I wanted to try the Dyson fan, not for the name brand but because it looked so easy to clean. I'm lazy and don't like to have to clean the blades and grill on a regular fan. But the Dyson being ridiculously expensive, and having some not so good reviews, led me to look for a not so expensive version to try and see if I like the "blade-less fan". I did like this one at first, even though soon after I bought it the remote had trouble controlling the swivel function. After a few weeks I noticed that even after I turned the fan off it kept oscillating, and wouldn't stop until I plugged it out. Weird, but I can deal with it. But then temperatures hit mid 90s and I needed this thing to really perform and on lower settings it was struggling to blow a hot breath around the room let alone a breeze. I only really felt the air when I cranked it all the way up. About a month after I bought it, the fan started shutting off on it's own.
