I had been searching for a Westbend everywhere and no one seemed to have it in stock. My old one of 6 years died and I bought a Cuisineart and it didn't do the job well. With the Westbend the eggs come out perfect as we like them soft but not runny.
Children love soft boiled eggs and I find this poduct to be the best.
How did this get good reveiws?
Hard as it is to believe, I grew up with a Sunbeam automatic egg cooker. When my father passed away, that was one of the things I took. I'm 63, and it finally broke, so I wanted to buy a new one.
Compared to the one I had, this one is really, really bad.
First of all, the Sunbeam had the water measuring cup incorporated into the top of the unit. Can't lose it and the units were "soft, medium, hard". How easy is that?
This one has a small shot glass that will get lost and is measured in terms of numbers, which appear to have no correlation to anything in the real world.
When the eggs were done in the Sunbeam, the machine turned off. Fantastic.
This one, when the machine thinks the eggs are done, it starts yelling at me. I really don't want a machine to be yelling at me.
The Sunbeam had a well for the water that was lower in the middle, when the water was gone, the machine turned off.

Focus Egg Cooker 86628
This is the best!!! I finally can make perfect hard boiled eggs, easy to peel. Soft boiled and poached are a breeze too. I bought one for my daughter and my 14 year old grandson who loves hot hard boiled eggs is the king egg maker of the family.
