Stove Top Dissapointment
I have used this type of stove top coffee pot for years, and had my old one for probably eight years or so.
When I found this one I was happy to know I could continue to brew coffee atop the stove, my favorite.
This coffee pot was a dissapointment. As soon as I took it out of the box I noticed the handle was a bit loose. Within a couple of weeks, the handle broke off. It was if it had been glued to the pot, as there was no hole into the pot where the handle was. The coffee pot is pretty much useless now, a big dissapointment.
I hate to write bad reviews, but felt it only fair to tell the truth about my experience.
Quite possibly, I received a defective pot and it is a chance thing.
I will not order any more though on line.
Great little coffee pot
This product was purchased following the loss of power due to an ice storm in our region. I had no way of making coffee. I do not like instant. Now since receiving this stovetop percolator, I use it as often as my drip coffee maker. There is nothing like the smell of fresh percolated coffee on the gas stove to awaken the senses in the morning. I highly recommend this stove top percolator. It is dishwasher safe also.
Simple and Sweet
I am a coffee 'snob' and have owned many very fancy coffee makers. Unfortunately, the fancier they are, the more things just go wrong.
This Copco perculator is Very Simple in structure and Very simple to use...
I like strong coffee so:
1. I fill it up to just below the spout hole with healthy spring water
2. I add 3 heaping scoops (approx. 3 heaping TBSP) organic dark bean coarsly ground coffee
3. I let it perk for about 10 minutes (timing based on strength preference)
4. All Done! Excellent HOT coffee!
Clean-up is easy. I place all parts except the plastic 'knob', that easily twists off the lid, and the black sealer, into the dishwasher.
By not subjecting these parts to the hot dishwasher water,it is unlikely for leaks to occur.
Like most things in life...'simple is usually most sweet'!
